Not to argue your point that he sells, but the majority of companies that have an artist use their product are compensated in varying degrees. That could be equipment, production help on the road, publicity or dare I say it ... cash. Many artists go to the highest bidder. Alembic as far as I know don't really compensate endorsers to any significant degree. The artist endorses their product. Even more of a bottom line. Cha Ching in the artists account. Check each manufacturer that is publicly traded and find out how much of their budget is for endorsers and artist relations.Mark may not use the model that bears his name, but we can get exactly the specs on what he uses and have it made because each ordered bass is a custom of sorts. Not so with other manufacturers.By the way, how many basses have been sold because Mark King uses them? Outside of the gear head world, many pop fans don't play bass, don't know what gear guys use, any are lucky if they remember Level 42 in 2003. Don't get me wrong, I admire and respect Mark's talent, voice, writing and playing. A unique talent to be sure but he is getting paid. We aren't. We just love the basses we bought and wish everyone else could fell how we feel.
