Stay away from the Porsche dealership!!!!!!
I got to drive a new Porsche Cayenne, WOW !!!
with the back seat down you could haul all of your Alembic's and FAST.

PS; I'll have to keep my 944 until I can come up with $60,000 but that's only 5 new Series 2s, what a problem

I've long been a Porshe fan, as they are to me the only 'exotic' you can drive to work every day
(damn pragmatic, those Germans).  I remember the first time I saw a 911 Targa, going down California Street in downtown SanFran.  As a kid from East Texas, it was quite a sight in 1969.

While they've never been pretty cars (vs. the Italians), I was very disappointed over the last several years as 911's morphed in to C2's and C4's with those damned Boxster headlights.  NOW they're building a SPORT UTILITY VEHICLE (albeit a very fast, good handling one)?  What's next, an electric Boxster?

I thought it was bad enough I'd lived long enough to see beautiful women wear Doc Maarten's and tattoos, but now this . . . at least somebody's listening, but you can't buy a GT3 for ONLY five Series 2's.

If you need to go fast with passengers, skip the Cayenne, pass the M5, get thee to an M-B store and buy an E55.  You can thank me later.

Which version did you drive? Non-turbo, single or twin turbo?

I guess I would consider myself lucky to have the job I do, as the owner of our company has a 1962 356 Porsche twin grille roadster and I am the only one who is allowed to work on it It has never seen rain and is one of about 200 ever made from what I know(if someone knows otherwise, let me know). This thing is immaculate, even the chassis.

Nothing like seeing this car turn a senior citizen into a teenager!

I think we need a new thread Alembic owners and their Porsches  Elzie, I drove a Cayenne S, 350 HP, it would get up and go. I wish you would have posted a picture of your 356, I know this is an Alembic site but even the Alembic catalog has a shot of the back of a 356 Porsche (Mica was that your Mom and Dads 356). Alembic and Porsches, life don't get any better

I actually love them all, but especially the new Z06.  405 horses stampeding from the corale!

Nothing like a deserted highway with a 405 hp AMERICAN V8 growling in front of you at full honk!

Oh yeah,  there's also the feeling of playing an Alembic!

The V8 in the front of TVRs (including mine) was originally an American V8, but it's been fettled in the UK over the years so I don't think there's much American left in them now. I can agree with the V8 at full honk comment - that's why people buy TVRs - for the sound and the performance.

I am glad I am not the only one who wondered who that Porsche in the brochure belonged to.  Please, we must know!

I like TVRs too.

Are we allowed to post pictures of our 'rides' or is it strictly basses / instruments only?

Haven't got the Alembic yet David, so here's the car (and no - before you all ask - the house isn't mine). This is the car on holiday in the Loire in France a couple of years ago. For anyone who's interested, it's a 4-litre TVR Chimaera in rosso pearl (even though it looks solid red in this picture).
