I just called.  The Kravis rep told me that the cost of the tickets would be automatically refunded to my method of payment.

I guess I need to find a flight to Oakland and a ticket to Yoshi's.  Maybe Stanley will bring out Dragon's Breath.

If you South Florida boys hit the road now you can be in Jacksonville in plenty of time for the show tonight at 8:00.  It's at the Florida Theatre on Bay Street. It's not the same as the SF Bay area but a lot closer.

Edit: Forsythe Street, not Bay, sorry

For those of you in the DC area, Stanley will be doing four...that's right FOUR nights at Blues Alley - December 1-4!  For those of you who've never been to Blues Alley, it's the smallest, most intimate venue you'll ever have a chance to see him in.  I've seen Jaco, Joe Zawinul, John McLaughlin & Jonas Hellborg there, among others.  Highly recommended.

Oh Sam, this is killing me.....I WISH I could join you boys tonight! BUT, tonight is my payback to my wife for my Father's Day gift.

No expense is too great for the Mrs.

I'm taking her to see Neil Diamond tonight in Miami. Floor seats. Shoot me now, shoot me now!

This gives a whole new meaning to Alembic's being costly...

Tony, it's a good man indeed that would choose Neil Diamond over Stanley Clarke to please his wife. Especially considering the traffic nightmare on leaving that arena.  My hat's off to you.

Tony,
If I recall correctly what your Fathers' Day gift was, I think you're getting off light only having to trade SC for ND. LOL.
Enjoy the show.

Good Morning!

Hey Sam, don't give me too much credit, it was the least I could do! Janey is a special lady. It isn't easy putting up with me for 25 years+

We were REALLY lucky, we stood by door near the end of the show, we beat all the traffic! In our favor...the audience was mostly older than us, they moved slower!

Rich, you remembered! Yes, I know I shouldn't complain, it was the least I could do. But all & all (as Ed r said) it was a HELLUVA really nice show.

NOT Stanley Clarke.... but the company was why I went, not the venue!

I couldn't for the life of me make out what type of bass (besides the upright) the fellow was playing. It must be me, but I don't think he was LOUD enough! That seems to happen to me more & more, it NEVER seems like ENOUGH BASS!

Well the show last night was everything that could be expected from three masters like these. Incredible! The ensemble pieces were great and the solos were magic. Stanley did use a bass guitar for one tune. It wasn't an Alembic.  I'm not real familiar with them but it looked like it might have been a Rick Turner. It closly resembled Lindsey Buckingham's guitar.

Of course there were the usual talkers, up and downers, and late arrivals. There was even some clown with a digital camera with the brightest light I've ever seen on a camera.

Overall a great concert.  They played for two hours including one encore.

Hello Sam, thanks for the update for those of us that that would loved to have been there. I'm finding it difficult to make it through a show these days as morons yaking, cell phones, cameras, cause me to run my mouth. The masses overall I.Q. seems to have dropped significantly over the years. I got my hat handed to me by the Three Stooges in the parking lot after an Alice Cooper concert in Detroit a couple years ago.( I know, I know, I got invited to go ) These guys were drunk, stupid and loud, which normally I'm fond of, and all I asked is that they refain from sending beer my way unless it was in a cup.
Well having no sense of humor they followed me out to the lot and the fun began.

Enough about idiots, what about equipment? Did you notice what type of rig Mr. Clarke was running?

P.S.- A shout out to two rather large, young, black, Detroit cops who made me what I am today, old, white and alive. It was readily apparent that these magnificent officers were not Three Stooge fans. Thank you gentlemen.

Clarke is indeed using a Rick Turner Model One Bass custom made for him at Renaissance. He's also using the DTAR preamps from Duncan-Turner Acoustic Research. I don't know which models, though.

Hi Gary, the stage setup was identical to rraymond's photo above. He could have taken that picture last night. I can't give detailed descriptions of Bela & Jean-Luc's gear, I just don't know. Whatever they were using, they used it as well as it could be. Stanley had the two SWRs, the upright and the electric bass mentioned above. I was sitting directly in front of the Super Redheads about 16 rows back.
No head tilt problems, Paul.
