A lot of Alembicians play Acme speakers, so players down under might be interested to know that Acme speakers are now available in Australia: www.acmebass.com.au

There is a bit more to the story...

Some of you may remember that when I first joined this discussion group I was looking for a new bass rig. Based in large part on the enthusiastic recommendations of fellow Alembicians, I air freighted a couple of Low B-1s to Sydney - and was impressed. I figured that other Australian bassists would want to try them if they were available here. I had a chat to Andy Lewis and became the Australian agent (Acme's first agent).

Green Square Music (a the business is named) will follow the same business model as Andy - i.e. direct sale to end users with a 2 week trial.

Australian Alembicians,

The official launch event for Acme in Australia will be on Monday, 18 August.

Christian Young will be doing the technical demo. He is a fantastic bassist from NZ. The Jackie Orszaczky Trio will also be playing - comprises Jackie on piccolo bass, David Symes on bass and Hamish Stuart drums. You gotta love a trio with two bassists and one of Australia's best drummers.
