These pups are on eBay and I wonder if they can be hooked into a Series one preamp? They're for a $195 BIN here  http://cgi.ebay.com/ALEMBIC-PICKUP-PICKUPS-for-Bass-Guitar-PAIR-Look_W0QQitemZ7367717888QQcategoryZ22670QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Can't tell from that picture; they could be Series pickups, or they could be AXYs. A picture of the back of the pickups MIGHT show what kind they are.

You can connect AXY pickups to Series I/II electronics, just turn down the hum balance trimmers.

Thanks Mica. If they're AXY's, do they match well with the Series I? Or is that one of those who knows questions?

AXYs will function well, but they don't sound like the normal single coil pickup, largely because the AXY has half the magnetic aperture as the SC-1.

BTW, we sell cosmetic second pickups at half the retail price, so a pair of comso AXYs from us would run $130 at this time. We don't always have them available, but I know there's at least one pair right now.

Thanks Mica! Thats less than what the eBay seller wants. I think I'll stay with my original pups.
