I had never seen or heard this bass player play a long bass solo like this one. It's great!!! Enjoy.

Thanks Duncan,

I knew Jimmy plays with a couple of different bands, but had only heard him with James Taylor. I knew that he's excellent. A very cool clip.

Check out his work with Allan Holdsworth! He has some great solos and plays really tasty stuff in the  compositions. Gary Husbands is on drums on a few of them.

Also check out anything by Flim and the BB's.  In particular, the CD Neon.  The first track is an amazing 2 minute bass solo called Fish Magic by Jimmy Flim Johnson.

I was watching Conan O'Brien Friday night.  There was an Australian band named The Sleepy Jackson.  The bassist was using an Exploiter bodied Spoiler.

James - that's interesting - about six months ago I saw a video of them on MTV and the bassist was playing that instrument - but on their website and in music press coverage he was using other basses, so I figured it must have been art directed into the video. Good to hear its his regular instrument. They are one band being hailed as the Next Big Thing from Oz. My money is on The Cat Empire.
