This one's for you Ollie: Who's seen this DVD and what are your impressions? Yes, I know it's the OX...how bad can it be, right? Is it worth buying? Inquiring minds wanna know!

Hi,
sorry to be so rare in here the last few weeks but I lost my job three weeks ago so busy on searching a new one.
As a fan: the DVD is great, a bit short (45mins) and shows some great footage of Johns home.
Great to have Steve?s words in there and his eulogy to John is really pressing out the tears.
On two songs John is playing an 8string Status Buzzard.
As said the DVD is great for a fan but to be honest, there are better performances of John on DVD or Video like the Royal Albert Hall gig.
Just my personal opinion.

Sorry to hear about the loss of your job. My friend Dieter was apparently right about the state of the economy in Deutschland currently. Hopefully, you'll get an even better job shortly. Good Luck.
 
I knew you, of all people, would be able to give an honest impression of the video. It got great reviews on amazon.com/cdnow.com. I'll have to ck out the RAH video. Thanks for the help.

I agree with Oliver. Good for the JAE fan. Typically, with John's new sound the bass is really lost in the mix. Too darn many effects for my taste. But, it's fun to watch and you can pick up a few neat little moves if you pay attention. His keyboard player, Gordon Coton is really very good. He fills in the holes nicely.
