Cobalt cable
« on: October 06, 2004, 10:36:56 AM »
Hello,
Just thought I would share....

If any one is looking for a particular type of cable these guys offer alot of variations, for a decent price:
http://www.cobaltcable.com/product/musician_pro_cables.htm

I myself own (2) Single 1/4 TRS to 2 mono 1/4 inch cables
(1) 1/4 TRS to 2 RCA
(1) XLR (Male/female)
I also use monster but I wanted to check these guys out even though I have not had them for very long, they are definitely made with care, and sound great.

Nice looking cables...I like the chrome look.  I was ready to invest in some new cables...may buy one of these guys and give it a try.

Im slowly upgrading all my cables, in my rig and in the studio... I cant see spending all this money on instruments and other equipment and having it all run through crappy cabling... anyway if  you order let me know what you think.

I checked out their site.  I noticed that their guitar cables come with one straight plug and one right angle plug.  Want two straights instead?  Pay $5 more.  Want two right angles instead?  Pay $5 more.  Since it appears that their cost of straight plugs is the same as for right angle plugs, and the work - soldering two plugs for each cable - is the same, the extra $5 seems a little bogus.  IMHO

Admittedly that is a bit weird,  I myself use monster Jazz series cables for my Instruments
But they definitely came in handy when we needed a 1/4 TRS to 2 rca output for the studio, as well, there XLR's are very high quality.
Point is, if you are looking for a hard to find cable they usually have it or can make it for a decent amount of money.

Oooops.  My apologies to all and especially to cobalt cable.  I read the ordering info a little too quickly.  Brother Thomas (aka Poor Nigel) is indeed correct, the straights are $5 LESS.  Oh well, what the hell do I know about cables anyway, I use a cordless.  (Actually I have cables from receiver to pedal board to amp and cables from amp to two foot controls BUT MY GUITAR KNOWS TRUE FREEDOM!!!!!!  (William Wallace would be proud).
