I bought and love my Carl Martin Bass Chorus pedal - two chorus units that get set independently and a switch to choose which you want to use.  Amazing sound. LOVING IT! Todd

And the two the best vintage chorus-flanger effects - Washburn FX: 4 Flanger and Guyatone PS-013 Analog Chorus. These are the best chorus / flanger effects I've ever used. And I used many. Fantastic, analog sound.

Back in the mid 1990s I took two clinics with bassist Mark Egan . He was using the T.C. Electronics unit . I purchased one soon after . It really is a high quality unit and I love it .

TC Electronics made a Nova 'tri-chorus' a few years back and it was the best I've found. Notes are clear with little color and a far reaching cinematic chorus. Highly recommended.

I don't use it often, but I like the Pigtronix Quantum Time Modulator - got an LFO and an envelope follower, and various ways of mixing the two... very analog sounding. Great on guitar, baritone, and bass.

Another one some of you may have lying around, but a Boss BF2 flanger with the feed back turned way down was always my favorite chorus . . . . . but then again, the best I ever heard was the old cast-iron CE1, or even better yet was the chorus of the tape-loop Space Echo.  My God I'm a Neanderthal . . . . . otherwise, the AC TC mentioned above was the next best thing.

Seems like it's good all around. What are some of its shortcomings though?

Not a chorus guy, but what about Aguillar Chorasaurus?

Not just a bass, this is an Alembic!
