Awesome! Unfortunately, Big Brown informs me that my copy won't be arriving in Joisey until some time on this coming Tuesday. I guess I'll just have to wait.

Did anybody get the companion Dead Movie Soundtrack? It documents the almost the ENTIRE Winterland '74 run, including all the stuff thats NOT in the two-disc Movie set.

I went for my lungs: I bought the movie, the movie soundtrack, the new cd set (Beyond Description), and the T-shirt, LOL!

It's all coming on Tuesday. They're throwing in the 6-long film print strip as well as a thank you for buying it direct from the Dead.

Got mine on Tues. but didn't have time to ck it out until yesterday. It brought back a lot of memories of Friday night Midnight Matinees at the Dunellen Theatre all highed-up back in the day.

BTW, My film clip souvenir is a piece of sh*t: some guy in a Skull and Roses shirt. It was a nice gesture, but worth nothing in my opinion. I guess I'm just a sucker for GD's merchandising efforts. I don't feel too bad, though, about providing the pension for the Dead and all their heirs considering what they've given to all of us.

Ck out the soundtrack release...well worth it as that was the 'farewelll run' so they pulled-out all the stops.

Kevin:

That guy in a Skull and Roses shirt might have been me!  I mean I was there.  And there couldn't have been too many guys wearing S&R shirts, right? (LOL)

Bill: I didn't mean to insinuate that you or anyone else that might be depicted in my film strip is worthless, just the collector value of the film specimen itself. I guess everyone wasn't gonna get a shot of Jerry or the band so it's my misfortune to get what I got. No insult or sour grapes intended, just me venting.

I'll have to look at it more closely..the guy has dark curly hair and a moustache and his S&R shirt is lightly colored...light blue, gray, beige, something like that.

I was trying to make a joke.  I really was there, though, for several of the shows that stand.  I may have been wearing a S&R shirt, along with about a thousand guys each night that would fit that description.  However, I'll bet pictures of me at a dead show are MUCH RARER than pictures of Jerry at a show!  Want my autograph?

Hey, give credit where it is due:  lots of guys can forget words, but Jerry had the rare talent to blow the lyrics while using a teleprompter!  And I loved every minute of it!

True, but then again, he probably forgot more lyrics than I've ever remembered in my entire repertoire.....

Bill TGO: I realize you were joking, I just didn't want to insult anybody about my comments regarding the collectibility of my film shard.

Bought myself a copy of the Grateful Dead Movie and the Beyond Description boxset as an early Christmas present to myself on a record fair today! I will certainly be enjoying this almost-overdose of Dead delights until well after Christmas!
