CREAM IS COMING! (or is it the other way around?)
« Reply #15 on: October 04, 2005, 05:24:02 PM »
The DVD is here.  Good sound, Stormy Monday is a definate highlight.  They also play one of my personal favorites, Pressed Rat and Warthog without the french horns and recorders though.  Jack looks frail and sits a lot but who wouldn't having just had a liver transplant.  He smiles throughout the whole video.  It seems as if all three are having a great time. Ginger even does a T Shirt commercial. The camera work is a little distracting. They try for a lot of unique type shots like through the drum hardware. Another example, on the song Sweet Wine Jack is playing his EB1 and the editors slip in a close up of the LEDs from his Thumb Bass.  Little things like that are minor overall.  It's Cream, they're together and sound great.  A little less energetic and not as much stamina for the long jams but very satisfying.  Well worth it.

Ah, Sam beat me to it! I haven't been home in a few days as I'm watching a friend's house, so I may have gotten my copy and don't even realize it.

I hope I don't like the vid as much as Sam...my credit card will be hurting from those gouge-ariffic scalper prices over at stubhub, LOL!

The current issue of Guitar World (Dimebag Darryl and his brother on the cover- get shot, get famous) has an interview with Messrs Clapton, Bruce, and Baker.  My London DVD just arrived.  It's going to be a creamy weekend.

Thanks for the tip Bill.  That's not a magazine I regularly read but will check it out.  Cream to me is like the Dead to so many here.
Enjoy your weekend.

Got my DVD today and am enjoying same while I write this. Looks like I may have to seriously dent the 'ole credit card for the MSG shows, LOL!

Physically, these boys have seen better days, but they still sound pretty damn good for a 37yr. hiatus, LOL!

Pressed Rat and Warthog Collection of Dog Legs and Feet, indeed!

Cheers,

Kevin

BTW, I also had deepdiscountdvd.com include that other Royal Albert Hall Cream DVD the 'Cream Farewell Concert from '68. Not bad for 1968: sound and pix quality are acceptable and the new Extended version includes extra footage not originally included in the original documentary.  Recommended!

I have both the Farewell Concert and Strange Brew DVDs.  My gripe with them is the editors like to get all psychedelic with the live footage and that makes it hard to see.
