Don't have any experience with Status specifically, but I do with another graphite neck wonderbass- the Zon Legacy Elite. This thing had great tone, a great neck, great lots of stuff. But,after 2 years of ownership my son traded it in on an Alembic Europa. His reason was that the Zon was a Ferrari for sure, but the Alembic was just so engaging to play. 5 years later he still says it was the right move.
Like the difference between a mere mortal stereo and an all tube rig playing vinyl through electrostatics or k-horns: one sounds good, the other makes you look forward to the next time you can play it.
Is that all the graphite? I don't know, but every instrument I've owned or played that had graphite in the neck left me subconsciously wanting.
Mai too sense.
