Well, you asked for it...
It's going to be a Balance K with a 35 scale and Series II electronics. The details are many, so I'll start from the top...
The headstock is an omega crown with a cocobolo front laminate and a spalted maple back laminate. The omega should be chamfered like Gary's.
http://club.alembic.com/Images/631/13892.html?1111352382 The logo is inlaid sterling silver with a black Tahitian MOP cloud.
The tuners on the treble side will be moved, preferably towards the nut, to accomodate the wingspan of the dragonfly inlay on the back of the headstock.
The nut is 1.75, and the string spacing at the bridge will be .53 edge to edge, with a 35 scale.
The ovals are Black tahitian MOP.
The neck is mahogany/ebony/purpleheart/flame maple/purpleheart/ebony/mahogany, inspired by Peter's
http://club.alembic.com/Images/631/16762.html?1132321319 and Michael's
http://club.alembic.com/Images/631/21366.html?1139436729 necks, but different from both.
The pickups will be the 4-string width.
The entire neck and associated hardware/pickups will be buried into the body so that the standard horn reaches the 13th-12th fret.
The top is Cocobolo,
http://club.alembic.com/Images/2344/17018.html?1133621277 . The back is either this one
http://club.alembic.com/Images/2344/22476.html?1132262949 or this one
http://club.alembic.com/Images/2344/22480.html?1132263115 -8 kind of has an insectoid pattern, but -7 has a lot of dark at the seam, which should blend really well with the mahogany in the neck, and is quite beautiful in it's own way. I'm leaning towards it for now.
The body is mahogany. Accent laminates are vermillion on the front, to bring out the red in the cocobolo,
http://club.alembic.com/Images/631/12295.html?1096076540 and walnut on the back, because it looks so yummy on Kens Rogue.
http://club.alembic.com/Images/631/19085.html?1139501608 The point should be reduced, somewhat vestigial, like the point seen on the upper bout nearest the 24th fret of val's bass, seen here in the 30 October post.
http://club.alembic.com/Images/631/13819.html?1099187688 Tummy and elbow contour, continuous wood backplates and truss rod cover.
The side LED's will be green, with amber at the 7th and 19th frets.
The hardware is black chrome, and the tuners are black.
I am going for gosh, that's pretty, on the front and MY G*D, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?!? on the back. I spend a fair amount of time looking back at the drummer (I don't sing, and usually stand stage left between the 2 frontmen and the drummer), so anyone on my side of the stage will be getting glimpses of the back fairly regularly. Hopefully by this time next year I'll be playing it, or close to it!
