My first post, yippee. I borrowed an older Boss oc-2 last year and was not very impressed. Poor tracking on one note only, unpleasant sound, etc. Then in February of this year I read about and purchased the new oc-3. Much different beast. 3 modes; one emulates the oc-2, where you can independently blend two octaves below the tonic. Then there is a polyphonic mode that works very well. This mode has a range control that lets you set the frequency where the effect kicks in. This allows guitar players to only have the octave effect when they play the lower notes, leaving the higher solo playing unaffected. The third mode is a distortion mode, where you can adjust the amount of overdrive, and the amount of the lower octave. The distortion effects the source and the octave both. Cool things about this pedal: It has two inputs, one optimized for guitar and one for bass. It has two outputs, the effect out which plays whatever blend of source and effect you have set, and a direct out, always dry. I have found this box to be very useful, musical and fun. It definitely prefers a hotter input, either compressed or active electronics, it improves already good tracking. It loves my Epic, and I run my Jazz bass through an EBS multicomp before the oc-3. Anyway, since you mentioned fuzz, I thought you might like the Boss OC-3. good luck, JBY
