Well, here I thought you were all kind of kidding with that ol' Olympic joke, and I'm gettin' on the subway the other day with the bass and the cops are there to check bags and they say Hey, what you got in there? Bass. (My Alembic is in a Peavey hard case). Fender Precision? Rickingbaker? Olympic? When he said Olympic I pretty much fell over laughing. Yep, Olympic. Stephen Clarke? You got it buddy, see you later.

I have a good friend, really good guitar picker, who just cannot get Alembic out of his mouth. (and this is a reasonably intelligent fellow, or at least he should be because he has a good job with the federal government.). It's always Olympic' and now I just look at him askew and let him go.

Having a good job with the federal gov't, IMHO, has no correlation with reasonable intelligence. After all, George W. has a pretty good job with the feds and, well, you know ..........!

As for Stephen Clarke, didn't he write Carry, the story of a lonely outcast teen with psychic abilities, a bass, and no roadie?

Hey Bill, I know, I know. ....believe me I know...One certainly does not logically lead to the other (good job/intelligence) but you would expect a reasonably sharp bloke to be able to pick up on a different word after 7 or 8 respectful corrections. Anyway, I did couch my remark with 'should'...;....believe me I know. I may bid on Bob's Series because a previous post said it was made of bleeding heart.....

I don't know David, I've been correcting people for years on the pronunciation of my name, Olie, pronounced Oh-lee, (rhymes with holy) and they still want to call me Ollie, pronounced ah-lee. Go figure!

Toby, they are very similar except that they work in different areas. The CLH mainly works above the knee. The ET's primary work zone is close to your home, you know, down under.

Ah the astounding synchronicity of it all . . . one of the mechanics at work has personal tags on his truck: ON2BASS . . . right right between the bumper stickers for 'BASS Pro Shops' and 'BASS Anglers' Society Member' ! !

Now what I want to know is, how the hell do you angle a bass? What angle? Did I miss something back in my School Days? I thought Stephen Clarke played with the New Crusty Nostrils.
