« on: August 22, 2006, 06:51:19 AM »
It's a CARVIN PRO-BASSII bass amp rated @ 200watts RMS per chanell(high/low),here's the problem it turns & you can hear the hiss through the speakers, also when i turn it  on the speakers Jump indicating the power surge through the speakers, but when i plug into either chanell i get nothing,,,, im just wondering if any of YOU can fill me in on what you think MIGHT the problem is?,,,im trying to avoid getting ripped off before i take it in!

Or Could it be the INPUTS are blown?.....also too when i plug into the (low speaker output) jack in the back there is no signal going to the speakers whereas the High speaker out put gives me a signal to the speakers.

I'm not finding a Pro Bass II on the Carvin site.  Is your manual listed here?

I hate to say( oh hell, type it ) it Keavin, as far as getting it fixed somebody here could tell you what it might be..but.. the repairman could tell you it was something else and he'll either be right or wrong. Us non-tech heads must deal with that, I just hope that you went to or got a reputable repairman. In my experience w/ solid state amps it seems that when things start going wrong they're usually not worth fixing and you could be taking it in for the same problem again and again. You might want to look into getting another amp if you keep having problems with your Carvin. Hope it all works out, take care
