After a couple of years of mixing and matching, I think I'm finally happy with my pedalboard. I seem to be able to get all the tones I want with this setup and my Hiwatt. I've got about a dozen mint condition rejects that I'll be posting soon for sale. I don't think I've ever tried out a pedal in the store. I never saw the point. The guitar and amp would be entirely different and ,thus, so would the tone. I just bought and hoped for the best. The only change I'll be making is a mint Boss CE-2 I found to replace the Super Chorus I have now.

I found a near mint 1978 DR103 (original Mullards) and SE4123 cab (original Fanes) a few months ago. A true closet classic!

Jonathan, cool!!!! So howzabout a rundown on the pedals? I'm also interested in the rejects list. I'm about to change my rig (maybe). I have a Boogie Mark IIC+ from ebay in transit, as well as a custom earcandy cab under construction for two JBL D120s. The Hiwatt looks brand new. Which pedal board are you mounting on? And what's with the top right with the 1/4ers plugged in? A tour of the board would be very appreciated.

Here goes...from top left, going clockwise, the pedals are as follows:

The pedalboard is a Furman SPB-8. The jacks are basically from guitar to board, board to pedals, pedals back to board, board to amp. It's not an effects loop...the Hiwatt doesn't have one.

I'm keeping the POD XT Live. It's much more travel friendly. I can't say enough good things about that little piece of equipment. For the price, you just can't beat the versatility and tone.

Does the Furman board bypass the pedals when not in use? Also, I hate to put a fly in the ointment now that you have it all together, but, as you apparently have g.a.s. at least as bad as me, you might be interested in this. I also have the Boss tuner on my board. I had a problem with not being able to see it when we played an outdoor gig with strong sun this past May. Since then I picked up a Peterson VS II strobe tuner. (They also make a pedal version, the Strobostomp, but it is quite large and takes up a lot of real estate on a pedal board). This thing absulutely kicks ass on the Boss and every other tuner I've ever owned. The accuracy simply blows the Boss out of the water. The Boss gets you in the neighborhood. The Peterson gets you to the exact address. No comparison. Warning, if you try one you'll never go back to the Boss.

Jonathan, that's the pedal version. It's pretty wide when you see it in person. I have the VS-II which they just discontinued. They also just came out with this one:

I think they may also make the V-SAM which is like mine with a metronome added. The new flip up one looks interesting. I like the idea of mounting it on my mike stand.

My VS-II has been having problems recently. The screen goes blank, it reboots itself, and then the screen freezes - repeat. Never been abused. It's working right now, but we'll see. When it works, hard to beat.
