First, I haven't been around much recently due to this being my busy season for work. So I apologize to those for whom this has been an inconvenience. The season ends in two weeks, though I do hope to spend some time here before then, but probably not today.

But I did want to jump in here real quick to mention something before I completely forget to tell you about it.

I met John Judge last night. I thought some of you may find that of interest as he has been mentioned in a number of past threads. I had a gig last night in Hendersonville, NC; and while I was setting up, a guy who was apparently there for dinner came up and asked how I liked my Alembic. He then started telling me about his double neck and his Rotosound endorsements; so I asked him what his name was. John Judge. He then started telling me about knowing and spending time with John Entwistle, including seeing his collection of basses, and telling me about tours he had done with Edgar and Johnny Winter, Rick Derringer and others. He apparently is now living in the North Carolina mountains. The band was ready to start playing, so I had to excuse myself, and I think John was just leaving the restaurant when he stopped to talk, so I didn't get to talk with him further. But he did seem like a nice guy with lots of interesting experiences to talk about.

I had searched on him once and thought the John Judge listed here might be the same person.

Hmmm, both living in the North Carolina mountains! I suspect they are indeed one and the same.

Dave: So this is your busy season and you'll be booked up for the next couple of weeks? You playing left field for the NY Mets this year? Hope you make it to the World Series and then lose to the A's! (Would that be a World Series I or a World Series II?) LOL

Yes, that's him. I had remembered that site from when you had posted about it, and I mentioned to him that a club member had run a search and found the web site for a studio where he was mentioned; but I couldn't remember any of the details. But that's him in the picture and the text agrees with what he was saying about his experiences. And I couldn't remember where the studio in the web site was, but now that I see, that agrees with what he was saying as well.

Hah! No, I try to avoid situations where someone might be throwing 100 mile an hour baseballs at the same fingers I use to play my Alembic.

I lusted after the John Judge doubleneck for a while there. Although we already had a face from the Rotosound ad, he has become that much more real. Cool story Dave!

And actually, the John Judge Dragon Doubleneck came up just a couple of days ago when keurosix and I went off-topic in this Introductions thread. Darn Ed Roman!

100 mph fastballs aren't so bad. It's the 90 mph sliders that don't break that can really ruin your day. Fortunately, the only three guys in my league that can get up around 90 are ex-pros with pretty impressive control.

It's really cool that John approached you, Dave. Sounds like it opens the door for you to contact him at the studio if you wanted to chat some more.
