Olie,

Those are very cool!  How do you replace the batteries, and how do you turn them off?

Too bad you couldn't figure out how to power them via induction or something.  That *might* have had a slight effect on your sound, though.

Olie,
This is way too cool! You have created a must-have that will be seen on many guitars now! Does the light turn on with a turn (like a Maglite) or a push (Like a pen)?

Thanks guys. I don't know about how to turn them on and off or how to replace the batteries. I don't have the knobs yet. They are finishing up another set for me and will ship them all to me later this week. Hopefully I will have them next week some time.

Got the knobs today. All 4 sets. I'll post some pix as soon as I get them on the basses.

OK, I've got the knobs on. The phot of the S-2 doesn't really do them justice. They look great in person.

That's too cool for words.

So how do you turn the LED's on and off?

Stylin' and profilin', I think another trip to Mesquite is in order.
The caps for the MK knobs are pretty cool.

Thanks Guys. The S-2 are not LED. They have a purple heart dot with maple highlight. The burl Maple knobs have 24kt gold dot as arethe crosses on the Quilted maple knobs.
The LED knob have to be made a litlle larger than reg. knobs to allow for the electronics. I am not sure he could do hat style with LED's

Toby-there is a set screw on the side that turns them on and off.

Mike, what are you doing up so early on a Saturday? The girls want breakfast in bed maybe? LOL

Wow, those are fantastic.  Heh, bet the maker recieved a million e-mails by now ;)

About the on/off setup.  I have a couple of sets of these things called Astrojax.

The LED's are turned on an off by way of a key, that pokes in a little hole in the Astrojack, forcing a pin down on a teeny momentary switch that scrolls through that settings solid (constant on), disco (creates a *ahem* tracer effect), then off.

That may be too complicated for inside of the knob, but a set screw would be scary for me.  I can just envision myself turning it on or off, and the screw driver slipping to damage (personalize?) my axe.  That's my biggest fear, since I've done that in the past.
The only thing that stays the same is change.

The set screw has an internal-hex (allen). Very easy to turn on & off. The tops (ebony) screw on & off and I've found that you can leave the set screw in the on pos. and just give a slight turn to the top to turn the LED's on & off. Although I wonder if this could wear out the contacts?

What style Flax?

Very funny, Olie and yes. Another sleep over = 6:30 wake up call via a flash light in the face, a request for pancakes and Princess Diaries II

Jill's out with the girls this afternoon. time for a nap (the phones off the hook if you get any bright ideas.)
