I just picked up a brand new 78 Series bass, for $500.00, well sort of. The Alembic is squeezed into the DSP on a Line 6 Variax bass modeling guitar. I have just begun messing around, but there is no question that this is a cool ax. It plays very well, and the models seem to point in the general direction of the targets. While they totally ignored the filter functions, it sounds Alembic-ish, and Rick-ish, and Gibson-ish, etc... Anyway, if you run across one in a store, it is worth a few minutes of your life to check it out.
