This is an Italian guy who mounted a camera on his bike and proceeded to drive at speeds of 110 to 150mph (about 175-250 kmh) for about 15 minutes on an Italian highway, pulling wheelies, passing everything in sight. Very popular video in the old country right now...the cops are interested, and want to find out who the guy is. Needless to say it's not 'cause they want to put him on their Christmas list...

Hey, it's a good thing you got back out of the country before that went public!

OK, is there a prize IF you can identify this cruise missle by the dashboard display? It doesn't sound like a Ducati, so I'm guessing one of the Tamburini-designed MV Augustas. TELL me it's not a rice-burner on the road in Italy. Although the dispaly does look quite VFR or CB/R, or maybe RC51(SVT1000SPII on that side of the pond). Maybe it was Rossi blowing off steam after losing out to Nicky Hayden (YES!).

I love the wheelies thru the tunnels.

Neither did I. In fact I still don't... I suspect that if he does ride, it's probably not at 100+ MPH around corners between cars and guard rails.

Early in that video, the biker is flying up to a pair of cars with a little daylight to slip between them. I was cringing at the thought of making that move, and then the psycho goes and takes an inside line between one of the cars and the wall instead. That possibility wasn't even in my imagination. The rider is technically very good to say the least.

Italian motorways are scary. I didn't notice too many guard rails, but the road was narrow (2 lanes) and there were fences running along the whole road between Ferrara and Venice. I was sitting in the back of taxi doing 140 kmh/90 mph and there were people overtaking us. Crazy bunch, them Italians, inside a car or out. (Somebody quick, tell me the line about books and dogs.)

The fences must have been the job they gave the company that didn't land the job of actually building the road: fences on all sides, even on bridges crossing the road. I bet they even buried a fence beneath the tarmac.
