Whoops! Wrong Bird!
« on: April 11, 2010, 06:05:14 PM »
That is one bad brain fart I had there.. I switched bird names!  LOL

So, lemme re-ask.. has Alembic ever made an instrument with *Canary* Wood?  I have a beautiful piece here that I am turning on a lathe into magic wands, and it got me thinking..

Oh, and it's nothing against Cardinalwood.. I agree, it is gorgeous in it's own right.

I know I must have asked this before, but I can't remember exactly when or the answer, so here goes:

Is there such a thing as 'wormwood' mentioned in the Bible, and what's it called in these modern times?

I believe wormwood is an herb from which they distill absinthe.  And, as we all know, absinthe makes the heart grow fonder.

Are they real magic wands, or just replicas?

Wiki says that Wormwood is in the Book of Revelations and is the name of a star.

Wiki also references various plants of the genus Artemisia but commonly Artemisia absinthium, also called grande wormwood or absinthe wormwood.
