New Song Up

I just finished a song I'm really proud of. It's called 'Bundeswehr' and it's on my dang myspace page

I took the music from a 70s German TV commercial, recreated it, and added lyrics (it was originally an instrumental). I was able to play the orchestration fairly convincingly using a cool new synth program called SYNFUL. Check out the flutes -- they're fake!

With such happy music, the lyrics must be completely obscene, so warning to you all. The basic story is an old hippy who gets abused one night by a pack of demonic succubi, transforming him into Tim Curry in the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Is it true people don't like him? I remember him on that Windham Hill live CD, years and years ago....

I like him, have all but his latest stuff. I was fortunate to see him and Michael Hedges together at the Bottom Line in NYC. Just 2 guys and the evening was more than inspiring. Watching him play 3 basses at a time was a great feat of entertainment. Drastic Measures has great playing and great tones.

He does look like Kenny G, it's true. I bought Thrunk or whatever it was when it came out. I think probably my favorite stuff is still that Windham Hill CD -- he's just got a really nice Pedulla like tone on that one, very round and warm. I could see how people could say his tone now is cold, but it's not bad. So it doesn't sound like traditional bass -- so what?
