No, but I have read Me And My Bass Guitar, the Life and Music of Victor Lemonte Wooten by Paul R. Hargett. I've read, enjoyed, and learned something from lots of biographies and autobiographies of and by musicians; but this one I did not like. Victor's views of life, nature, and music area amply covered, along with a detailed chronology. But the writing style was, to put it mildly, unique (Hargett's first biography), and, to put it more personally, disturbing. Contrary to the author's intentions, the book, at least as it effected me, reflected negatively on Wooten. Which is too bad for me; I like his playing, I like his approach to music, and I appreciate his views on life and nature. But after reading that book, things just seemed different. So to anyone looking for a book on Wooten, my suggestion is to pass on Hargett.
