Fretboard marks

What are the latest thoughts on fretboard cleaning? I have a few not worrying sweat I think oval marks on fretboard. I have not put anything on fretboard Orion 4 from new 2000.

It's finger grease and stuff - the cloudy bits is what you need to clean off, the darker areas are clean areas of wood.
 
Go to a health food type of store, and ask for a bottle of essential lemon oil. You'll get just a small bottle, but you only need a few drops for the entire fretboard. If you mention you're applying this to wood, they probably think you're a nutter (aren't we all).
 
So just a few drops to wipe away the cloudy bits. Perhaps a little extra to replenish the wood. Follow Mark's link for some more discussions.

If you had led a better life, you wouldn't have had any reason to walk into the store - at least that would be the reasonable way of thinking. Not sure if they subscribe to that.

Thanks all for input on fretboard marks.  Used Culpeper 100% pure lemon oil, sparingly with excellent results.  I did not take all the strings off at once as it may have upset the tension.  I cleaned just before a string change by moving strings sideways.  Beware of some health food shops selling pure oil as they can use solvents in the processs of extraction which they say they remove later on !- I didn't chance it. Culpeper say they get the oil by expressing it which sounded better. Plenty oil left over - roll on pancake day !! Glynn
