Northwest gathering?

Greetings from Tacoma!  Just found this thread, sounds interesting.  Would be nice to meet fellow owners.  I could bring:  Classico 6-string - Spyder 4 & 8 string, Essense 6 & Orion 6 fretless.  Could also bring the ELF system....man that low B on the Classico bowed!  Anyway, some of these are probably not often available to many of you to plink around on and I would gladly let everyone have a go at them....  that said....I would be uncomfortable open-to-the-public or even open to non-alembic owners.....may sound snooty, but you can appreciate the situation with your own alembic passed to someone who doesn't appreciate / understand the cost's inherent.  Anyway....will continue to monitor the situation.

My vote?  not open to the public.  Performance - not a priority - food?  OK as long as the beer sloshing doesn't come in to proximity to the coco bolo

Gary-

I'm guessing that you are going to be a VERY welcomed addition to the mix.  From what I understand, the first portion of the day will be a closed to the public jam/play around session.

I'm nowhere near Seattle, but based on what you're bringing, I'm wishing I was closer.

Hi Guys.

Gary - You would most certainly be a VERY welcomed addition to the mix, and a warm welcome to you for this interim/transitory/introductory period, as it's very nice to 'meet' another local Alembic(s) owner.

To clarify, the mix is as Toby (tbrannon) has said, the first portion of the day will be a *closed to the public* jam/play around session.  Emphasis mine.

You're most welcome to join in the event with whatever time frame and level of participation you feel comfortable with.

Toby - What you said.  ;)  Thank you.

Best Regards,

Hi Royce.

Nice to meet you and welcome.

Here's a copy/paste of the basic info.

'The Island Music Guild booking is solid from 2:00pm until 10:00pm, Saturday January 5th.

I've taken the liberty of breaking Saturday into two distinct events/venues.

The schedule is as follows.

Meeting, making introductions, setting up, getting settled etc. starting at 1:30pmish.

From the 'official start time of 2:00pm' until 7:00-7:30pm, it's an Alembic owners get together with lick swapping, song learning, song playing, let's have some fun jamming time. This event is behind closed and locked doors and is *not* open to the public.

Sometime around 5:00pmish will be meal time. So far seafood bisque is on the menu for one of the 'main course' offerings. Please let me know if anyone has any seafood allergies, as it's quite 'heavy' with shellfish. I would imagine we'll also have salmon in some form or another, as after all this is the Pacific Northwest don't cha know. ;)

The second event of the day's 'official start time of 8:00pm', is an open to the public performance featuring me and any other Alembic owner(s) that has desire or inclination to join on in. If 'someone' is so inclined to join me in performing, advance notice would be very much appreciated so I can adjust the advertising of the 'Bass Rumble'.

Back to 'real time'.

Royce - That's pretty much the haps, though due to lack of 'feedback', I may change the meal plan to a more 'traditional musicians fare' like pizza. ;)

Other than that it's all good.

Here's a link to the Guild Hall.

January 5th.  2:00pm-10:00pm

Hope to see you there.

Best Regards,
