I'm thinking about calling BassNW and seeing if they are willing to host.

Thoughts?

I'm in, depending on the weather. I'm on the east side of WA state.

Not sure.

What with holidays, I'm thinking either early-mid December or January sometime.

If we schedule late enough, I can bring my new 6 string.

Thoughts?

Hi Guys.

Nice to see the interest and just speaking for myself, this seems like it could be a real gas.

So, we're just now 'hashing out' the basics and need get to the details part it, as it looks like more than Bradley and me are interested.  Sweet.

The downside is after speaking with Chad, Bass Northwest would be hard pressed to sponsor it, as it could only be available during business hours as the guys are gigging and/or have families etc.  Needless to say, it probably wouldn't be a good idea to descend upon them with our instruments and bodies during business hours, as they're so full of instruments and gear it doesn't have much available space.

So now we need to find a place to together.  Chad wasn't too positive about any of the local Seattle rehearsal spaces, as they're mostly set up for a band, or one to two individuals.  I've an idea about a place over on the peninsula side that would actually be very cool, but until I check out availability, I won't speak any further about it.

So now the question comes to mind with anyone local to the Seattle area, do you know of any location that would able to support, at this time, an unknown number Alembic bassists getting together and having a 'rumble'?  ;)

Also, during the initial phase of the idea, it was thrown out that sometime around December/January might be a good time, though let me say this is as tentative as everything else so far, as it truly is in the basics phase.

So, any and all ideas and suggestions are appreciated.

And as likely for awhile, updates when they happen.

Best Regards,

Kimberly

Any room for a UK visitor if I can
a)afford the flight after Christmas
b) Get the time off work

Usually no gigs in Jan as the holiday/party season is over

Hi Terry.

If...

a) you can afford a flight
b) get the time off work

Then...

a) you won't go hungry and will have a place to stay
b) should have a heck of a story to tell your workmates when you return.

Best Regards,

Kimberly

Kimberley that is very kind of you..would be better if everyone agreed for January, I cannot express the gratitude of your offer and it is indeed a noble gesture..I can only imagine what it would be like to have a several Alembicians together...
Well I should start making some plans in case it happens

Hi Terry.

Nothing noble about a 'lil o' bit of southern hospitality'.  Just the way I was 'brung up'.  ;)

I'm in agreement about January and am in process of checking availablity for a hall we could rent that would be perfect for a gathering.  Seating for 100+, house PA, stage, lights etc.  More specifics and details as soon as tomorrow.

How's about we make this official for January?

Available dates for the hall are Saturday the 5th and 12th, and Sunday the 6th and 13th.  Let me know as I'm talking to the hall tomorrow to first check to see if these dates are still open and cost.  I'm also going to speak with Chad and Evan at Bass Northwest to see if for a 'bit o' free' publicity they'll help defray costs.  I would think a six hour booking should be just fine for our needs.

As Bradley is 'wont' to say, Thoughts?  ;)

Hi Guys.

I locked in a pretty good blues sax guy that's interested in adding some 'color' to the 'rumble'.  I've a couple of guitar guys and a couple of drummers that I'll be speaking with to see about 'adding to the mix'.

Any 'Seattleites/locals' know any good keyboard players that would be interested?

Updates as they happen, when they happen.

Regards,

Kimberly

I'll have to play it by ear for January. It all depends on how the passes are.

For me, the 12th and 13th are no good.
