The bass is just way too far down in the mix.
The hook in the second song sounds like it's from West Side Story.
Here's a tip for everyone else; the third song, Drake, starts out featuring the bass! And in fact, the bass can be heard, and is quite good, throughout this tune, which also happens to be, for me, much more listenable than the first two tunes (of course I couldn't hear the bass on the first two).
The fourth tune, the cover that Austin mentioned, is the most recognizable. If you're somewhat versed in the history of jazz, you'll recognize the opening head. You can also hear the bass well on this tune too; and again, I like what Austin's doing. Unfortunately, the song is cut off before the sax player gets started; I was looking forward to seeing what he was going to do with it.
