does anyone know what kind of wattage comes out of an f1-x and/or an f2-b? i can't seem to find the info.

second question, what kind of wattage can you put into the input side of a power amp?

i'm curious mostly cause i have a fifteen watt tube amp that i like the tone of. it's just not loud enough for much more than practicing.
a follow up question would be: what part of the circuit gets a pre-amp out attached to it?

The F-1X & F-2B have pre-amp level outputs measured usually in VOLTS. (ask Alembic for exact specs ) They are preamps ! You can use the preamp in your effects in and use the effects loop if it has one . If there is no effects loop then use the ALEMBIC preamps as a front end for your signal on your amp and go through the low gain (-? DB) input on the front if it has one . If there is not a low gain input on the front then just use the regular instrument input. Be careful and have the Alembic volume controls @ 0 first and turn up to taste but be careful ; the Alembic Preamps are capable of a HOT output!
I prefer to use the Alembic Preamps with a power amp .

the 15 watter is an orange tiny terror. i'm wondering if i can plug the output into a power amp. i know orange makes bigger amps and cabs and such, it's not quite the same though.

also, i have this feeling that i have developed gear acquisition syndrome and am just in temporary denial.

Just to be clear, are you asking if you can plug the second speaker output from a tiny terror into a poweramp? Because I believe that would be a definite problem. If I understand correctly, the signal would have to be attenuated by something like a THD hot plate, and then the line out from the attenuator could be used with a power amp, P/A, etc.

If you are asking if an F2-B output can be ran directly with a power amp, then the answer is yes.

I've never heard that urban myth. I'd be shocked if you could do that (or maybe it's a very small cabinet). The F2B would have a better chance of getting away with this, but I can't imagine being very satisfied with the results.

You can take one of those 12 volt Zinky cigarette (sp?) amps and drive a 4x12 marshall cab! I've done it!

On the topic of tiny amps, the Zvex Nano amp is 1/2 watt, all tube, and can easily drive a cab. I wouldn't say it's loud enough to compete with a drummer without mic'ing though.
