The demo video was recorded at 12th and Porter in Nashville, and is basically us lip(and finger)-synching to a few edits of various covers we recorded at Peachtree Tavern in Atlanta.

For the audio, we set up on a Sunday afternoon, ran through a few tunes and recorded them in stereo off the console. It's live, but with no audience.

The guy who mixed it, Skip Slaughter, is a fellow Alembic bassist so the D-Fly sounds really good, at least to my ears. Not your typical Alembic Sound, but it does demonstrate the versatility of the electronics. Comments and criticsm appreciated equally

Sure sounds like an Alembic to me Charles!! The Dragonfly fits perfectly in that mix and I still love the version of Tupelo Honey that you guys play.

Glad to see you around- was planning on shooting you an email to catch up in the next few weeks anyhow.

EDIT: Just got around to listening to the tunes on the bands MySpace page- I like Savannah alot. Good tune.

Audio: I really dug the music. I may be a N.Y. raised deadhead, but good tight country can still get me.

Very cool Charles, I liked it a lot.

I earned a good living playing music just like that in the Texas club scene. I've played other circuits too but I had the most fun in the contemporary country market. (They may call it Country but it sure sounds a lot like Southern Rock).

I thought you HAD to like country a least a bit to be a Deadhead, though. Jerry played pedal steel, for crying out loud! Plus Big River, Mama Tried, Mexicali, Me & my Uncle, Deal, Loser, Sing Me Back Home, Black Muddy River, etc. etc.

The drummer and I are both heads. We actually met doing a Dead cover band together in the early '90's.

Olie, we cover a bunch of Texas guys; I'm sure you could slip right in with us if we ever make it out that way. We had a Dallas show fall through this Fall before the fall in gas prices
Hopefully we'll get another shot out that way soon.

Toby: Do that, If I don't beat you to it. I just picked up another full-time teaching gig so I'm ate up for time, but I'd love to chat about your bass, etc a bit!

We had a Dallas show fall through this Fall before the fall in gas prices Sounds like the title of a George Strait song. LOL

Charles I noticed you guys got to play with Radney Foster. Did you get a chance to talk to him much? Real cool guy and great song writer too. I ran into him in Greenville Tx where he did a free concert that was supposed to be in the parking lot of the local Super-Walmart. The show got rained out so he did an acoustic set inside by the deli. Turned out to be a cool show.

Olie, Radney was the nicest guy ever. Not to mention one of the best songwriters alive, IMO. He hung out and talked with us for a few hours...no hiding in the bus or anything. I've opened for plenty of club-level acts that weren't nearly as personable. During soundcheck his acoustic went down and he borrowed Scott's Chet Atkins for the gig, which was pretty neat.

The rest of his band was great, too, especially his guitarist, Eric Borash. E-Bo came up and played a tune with us...amazing player. Apparrently Scott knows him from somewhere, which is how we got the gig. He had a cool custom amp with just a volume and tone knob, and the wood surrounding the speaker grille was cut out in the shape of Texas.
