S M V - The Thunder Tour coming to Durham, NC
« on: April 22, 2009, 11:50:03 AM »
SMV is coming to the Carolina Theatre June 8th.

Member sales are April 24th through April 27th. I assume general sales will start the 28th. Looks like they have a VIP package and regular. The price difference between the two is $30.

I'll be ordering my tickets as soon as the box office opens the 24th.

I sure wish they'd come to the Dallas area.

This is going to be cool though. And it's free too.

Olie,
The Carolina is run by a non-profit arts  organization. To join you either call them up or use the web site. As a member you get early notifications of added events via e-mail. I just received the SMV notice today.

Oh, Stanley, Marcus, and Victor, now I get it.  I wonder if they'll be performing Spinal Tap's Big Bottom.  They certainly have the right line up for it!

As an aside, Monday I was watching a thing on cable from Montrueax '97: J. Sample, S. Gadd, D. Sanborn, E. Clapton & M. Miller.  Marcus had a metal something on the back of his headstock (besides the tuners) & the picture isn't clear enough to figure it out, even paused - any of you MM fans know?

No - much smaller & only on the back, not wrapped.  It kind of looked like the string tree on front, & was next to the A tuner.

Got it Keith thanks. Guess I'll keep watching the SMV site and hope they add a Dallas show. At least I'll get to catch Stanley Friday night in Denton. I believe it's going to be ab acoustic set.

Dave, my old band Bid Lucy played with the Arc Angels at The Hard Rock in Dallas for their CD release party back in the 90's. Was pretty cool meeting Tommy and Chris. Rene Martinez was cool too. He had some great stories.

Hi Peter! Marcus usually keeps his ?tools? on the back of the headstock.
