My Wife (NOT The Who Song)
« on: July 25, 2009, 09:36:57 PM »
Toward the end of This Thread, I told many club members about how my wife fell ill, and was in the hospital. Half an hour after posting, I recieved a phone call from our esteemed Dave Houck, expressing his concern and heartfelt sympathies. I was very moved by the concern and well wishes expressed by many of my fellow club members, and wanted to say thank you to every one of you.

It's been a rough 4 weeks for my family and I, but she is showing gradual but steady improvement. She has been off her respirator since Wednesday, and is breathing with the aid of pressurised oxygen through a nasal cannal (basically a small tube inserted into the nostril). She is very weak from being bedridden for this long, but we are working to build arm and leg strength, and she is determined to be able to walk when she is released from the hospital.

My family and I thank you all for your well wishes, and I will update this thread when I am able and as things progress.

Ken:

Great to hear that your wife is improving.  Things like this really put our little club's shared Alembic fetish in perspective.  Everything takes a back seat to health.  Good thoughts will continue from the direction of Alameda (where we just moved).

Continued success for your wife and the  regaining of her strength. As Bill stated, it puts portions of the lives of others into perspective. Her determination is the key with your love and support. Godspeed.

Ken, I have never met you, or your family. And as I have time for only one post before the bus leaves, I felt I needed to send you my thoughts and prayers. Good luck, and speedy recovery.

Glad to hear of your wife's improving health.  Despite how we talk about our Alembics (and other axes), for most of us married folkes, the wife (or husband) rates #1.

Godspeed!!!
