So I've re-entered the cyberworld.

My life flew thru major changes beginning in the winter of 2005.

I buried my wife of 25 years in November. One of my best friends/next-door neighbor died almost a year later. My mother-in-law a month later. For a while, I was utterly convinced all this had killed ME.

I tried to go back to playing, one of the few things I could hold on to in the face of so much loss. Got the new Elan. Played out some.

I spent about 18 months going to work, and coming back home and grieving. Spent way too much time on the web, as I just would not go out.
Got into some bad habits, and frankly spent too much time on websites that were bad for me.

So I pulled the plug.

So here almost four years later, I'm back on a good course in a good relationship and a better life. I play at home, but will never play out again. Just don't have the patience anymore, and I hate this ProTooled/Digital hell it's all devolved down to. It's become utterly obvious to me that musicianship, taste, and originality are unnecessary drags on the current creative process. I'm outa here.

So I'm developing other interests, but will always be interested in all the things I always found here with these amazing instruments and all of you amazing people.

As always, I don't know where I'd be without Susan, Mica, and Mary. And Will G, and Dave, and Bob, and on and on.

welcome back Big, had the same life changing catharsis in 2003 with multiple bereavments so I know exactly how you feel.

It's not all digimusic, I have just joined an absolute in your face blues/R'n'B band after playing shit for about 10 months..all live with all the mistakes but it is fun.

Lot's of changes here if you care to look..

Welcome back from someone who has only known you through your legendary postings. Obviously a lot of new friends to be made here if you so choose. I see you're in Nashville therefore if you pass through the Western NC area do look up the locals here.

Having lost my brother, father, uncle, and mother-in-law all within a year of each other a couple of years ago, I can certainly relate to what you have endured. I'm still not all back and I've been trying to help my 19 year old nephew who is suffering from serious PTSD over his father's death. It got to the point where it was just plain overwhelming and I found myself shutting down. It's great to see you finding your way back to the Alembic family (and, I assume, other areas of your life). As for playing, I can also relate. I find playing to be the best therapy for me, but I've had it with the whole business side of the music business. I just play for fun. While I still gig every now and then, it is almost always for free at a benefit, party, or political (medical cannabis) event. We play what we want to play. Under such circumstnace, it's still a blast to play in front of an audience.

Terry; I've also noticed that if I turn down the volume knob, the buzz isn't as loud.
