According to Holdsworth's website, the band for the Yoshi's dates is:
Terry Bozzio drums
Allan Holdsworth guitar
Tony Levin bass guitar, Chapman stick, upright bass
Pat Mastelotto drums, percussion

That's a shame, the east coast tour has nothing remotely close to the WNC area...  and Jimmy Haslip on these eastern shows!

Hey friends,

Thanks for the mention.  I'm in Canada now with Allan and Gary - thoroughly enjoying the music and camaraderie.  We're dragging Gary to LA for a visit after this so that has to include making some noise at the Potato.  We're also playing Alva's in San Pedro on Friday 10/9.

The Bozzio, Holdsworth, Levin, Mastelotto thing should be great, I hope they get to LA.  They did this in Japan last year and had fun so I guess they're doing a bit more.  There is no music, no rehearsing, just instantaneous musical combustion from this wild combination of talent!

So Jimmy, how about convincing Alan to bring you and gary to Scotland? There'll be a warm welcome for you in Edinburgh;-)

Hey Graeme,

It would be great to get up there, for sure!  It's not so easy to tour such eclectic music.  We got as far north as Newcastle in '07 with Chad.  Then I don't know where Allan went last year with Chad and Ernest.  But I don't think the experience was very good so Allan may be searching for a new agent or fixer before he gets back to the UK again...  And frankly, there is no money in it.  Anybody promoting and booking this kind of music has to do it because they dig it.  Art meets business again...

Craig, come say hello if you get to the spud.

Thanks Wolf, hopefully we'll hit Yoshi's again sometime with Allan's trio.  The new club in San Fran is great, so is the original in Oakland.  That show with Bozzio is going to be interesting though if you're in the mood to hear some wild playing.

Hi Jimmy. we (mike and I) saw Alan last year in Glasgow. It was a great Gig but the venue was very small.
If you're going to be anywhere near Newcastle in the future, let me know. My parents still live nearby and they're always wanting me to come and visit so at least I'd have somewhere free to stay ;-)
