Not a musician (though he did have a minor hit with Do the Mouse), and nothing to do with Alembic, but, nevertheless, a HUGE influence on my childhood, Soupy Sales has passed away. I suspect many others around here also grew up with White Fang, Blacktooth, Philo Kvetch, and a good pie in the face.
