Thinking about replacing my M/B cabs, but with what???

Hey everybody, I come for some advice.
 
I've been playing my Mesa/Boogie rig (M-Pulse 600 on top of a 210 and a 215) for a while now and I absolutely love it. The power behind me is just awesome.
 
The main drawback however, and this is a big one, is that these darn things are HEAVY and BIG! Its a pain in the butt and the back to move them every time I have a gig. Also, as much as I love my sound, I wouldn't be opposed to moving away from the raw power of old M/B cabs and towards something a little more subtle.
 
I'm playing in a reggae/funk/rock band at the moment, but I'll also be playing my double bass through these hypothetical cabs in the near future, if that helps direct anybody's ideas...
 
I've been suggested Dr. Bass cabs are the way to go, and they certainly look nice. I was just wondering what other suggestions you all might have for me to look into.

     If you like your MB rig but don't like the weight, I strongly recommend a MB Walkabout Scout with an extension cab if needed.  I have the 1x12 combo, and it's incredible.  300 watts, great tone and most of all very portable.  If you're going into a PA anyway, this is a way to go - use the Scout as an onstage monitor and let the PA do the heavy lifting.

I remember hearing something about long lead times, but this is a surprise. How could they expect to stay afloat with this kind of track record? Are they seriously so far behind on orders?

I play in a reggae band, and I use a Markbass 2x10 combo,with a 2x10 extension cab. Sounds great and weighs in at under 70lbs for both..

I play Mesa cabs...been playing different MB cabs since the early 80's. I currently play a 2x10 and 1x15, both had EV's. I replaced the 15 with a eminence neo kappalite 3015. THE BEST THING I'VE EVER DONE! much tighter sound and about 25 lbs lighter!
I couldn't find 16 ohm neos for the 2x10 so I went with eminence deltas. nice sounding but not light. I was looking at getting a different brand of cab but realized the MB cab is about as good as it gets construction wise, so replacing the drivers was the way to go for me. I'd still like to try some neo 10's in that box. Anyone know where I can get 10 neo drivers in 16 ohm?

hmm, thats a good idea Spose... I hadn't thought about replacing the drivers. They're probably overdue, these are pretty old cabs!

Sure is impressive to look at though! In my band she is known as Princess Killbot. We have a song about her too heehee!  She's a robot sniper from outer space who will shoot your with her love laser, causing uncontrollable boogying.

nice! I use to haul a 2x15 roadready loaded with EVM's like you have there...did you paint them white?

I have a  4/10   EV LOADED ROAD READY MESA  BOOGIE cabinet as well , it is HEAVY! But sounds SWELL !  It is still not as much as a BEAST as  The 18 Gauss in The Alembic Cabinet or for that matter My  8/10 SVT  or the DUAL THROAT FOLDED HORN 18  loaded with A JBL K151. I have seen multiple set-ups of 2/10 cabinets work well . Perhaps 4  2/10 cabinets  would be enough for many needs .
