Issues of 2010 for me...
« on: January 01, 2010, 01:51:35 PM »
NASA says there may be water on the moon. So, does this discovery give your full approval for  Colonization and Federalization?

Should we build colonies on the Moon?

Would you want to play a gig on the Moon?

We should stop trying to control everything we can get our creepy little hands on.

We should go back to 40 acres and a mule, practice husbandry of the soil, stop trying to control/ conquer everything and practice living a slower life in harmony with nature and those that are close to us.

. . . in other words - Let the moon be in the sky for us to view from afar. Everytime we try to conquer/ discover/ control something the end result is us F'ing it up.

Should we build colonies on the moon?  It depends on what time frame we consider.  500 years from now? Sure. Why not.  Within our lifetimes may be a bit soon when we have so many other problems closer to home, so to speak.  However, I support the idea that we need to fund basic scientific research that doesn't serve a defense or pharmaceutical interest.

We (human race) cannot even be collectively peaceful
on this planet let alone messing up our moon.

What is the big deal with ownership of something that
belongs to everyone and no-one.
Colonization and Federalization has created the greatest injustices for people
throughout the ages. e.g.
Discovery of America (the native Americans didn't even know it was missing)
British rule in India (Oppression of the masses)
Captain Cook discovering Australia (The Aboriginal people knew it was there for 40,000 years)
The white man came and wiped out the entire Aboriginal population of Tasmania.

I could go on and on about the greed and possesive nature of so-called well meaning
people that wish to instill their civilisation

LEAVE IT ALONE (and admire it from afar)

Alright, the new year isn't even 24 hours old and we already have a strong nomination for most ridiculous posted question of the year!  What's next, a photoshop pic of the Mona Lisa and Neil Armstrong playing tomahawks in the Sea of Tranquillity?

sittin' up here
watchin' all the lights blink down below
the earth is turning
why does it go so slow
thinkin' bout the girl I left behind
Houston
can you hear me
or have I lost my mind
why me?
why me?
I was waiting on the pad
all systems were go
the man up in the tower
was enjoying the show
then I got this feeling
that I never had before
hey let me out of here
what am I here for
why me?
why me?
there must be a thousand other guys
must be some other way to look good in your eyes
why am I up here, what do they see in me
must be a thousand other places to be
why me
the last man to be here
was never heard from again
he won't be back this way
till 2010...
and now I'm riding on a fountain of fire
with my back to the earth
I go higher and higher
why me?
why me?
there must be a thousand other guys
must be some other way
to look good in your eyes
why am I up here, what do they see in me
must be a thousand other places to be
why me
take anyone but me
why me

Bill TGO, (my unworthy pundit) get's personal again...

You get off on trying to vilify my values and you should try to ask yourself why...

If you must know, everything except about gigging, was a question-essay from my daughter's Math and Science department. Also like most things you horn in with your wit (or whatever else you think you have...) It comes to no surprise to again disagree with your demented, and very skewed opinions.

The questions are valid, even after your attempts to turn this thread into something else. LOL!

Bill, TGO This will be my last comment on anything you say. I leave you in peace; Live long; and may you prosper. (As a Vulcan would say...)

Happy New YEAR!

Peace and Love -

Austin - attacking someone is an interesting way to leave in peace. i'll have to try that some time.

Austin, for someone to yell ouch, when pinches by a random assailant, doesn't necessarily means they are in the predisposition, or inclination of an attacker.

Should I had said nothing, when something I believe was wronged me, and still you would be in disagreement with me? Come on... now.

I know there's a kinship with Good old Bill and it's cool. But, my comments was to Bill and for Bill alone, and I still wish him the best, as I wish for myself.

So, excuse me if I am confused by you saying my message attacked something. I don't get it...

Also, there are many people reticuled everyday, and yet they continue to love, show compassion, and still say what they'd believe without attacking.  Yes, Humans can do this...

Peace and Love,

Hal-

i don't know hal, calling someone unworthy seems like an insult to me. not really comparable to ouch. but hey, whatever. you use your words however you want, even if it's incorrectly.

anyway, here's to not starting another argument with you. cheers.
