Josh, there's nobody like Susan and Mica and Mary and everyone at Alembic. I bought a used Spoiler, had a few questions like we all do at first, and they treated me like I'd spent 50 grand with them. Nobody cares about their axes and the people that play them, regardless of how they came to own one, like Alembic.
Plus, they wrote the book that the Warwicks, Ken Smiths, et al, are reading: There were no artist-grade basses and electronics before Ron and Susan conjured these things. In the book,'American Basses', the author notes that there were two seminal moments in the development of the electric bass: Mr. Fender's original Precision Bass, and the advent of Alembic. Of course, Mr. Fender is gone home now, but you can still talk to the authors of the second leap forward. Amazing, ain't it?
