RIP James Gurley
« on: December 25, 2009, 08:56:38 AM »
James Gurley, the groundbreaking guitarist for Big Brother and the Holding Company has passed away at 69.  He was a forerunner of the 60's San Francisco psychedelic sound, leading the way for Jerry, Jorma, John Cipolina, Barry The Fish Melton, and others of the era.

May the four winds blow you safely home.

Bill, tgo

It is so sad to see him go . His solos  on CHEAP THRILLS still thrill me !  I grew up with that local San Francisco Psychedelic  Sound .  I send my love and respect.
