My brother and my mother just bought two. I haven't seen it yet, they are coming back to Brazil on monday. But he said it is awesome, and very very easy to use (which explains why my mother decided to buy one )
I'll post some thoughts once I get my hands on them.

I saw that video this past weekend.  It is appalling on many levels.

I have some things to say about the iPad. First of all, when you get your hand on one, it seems like you've owned it for the last 10 years. Absolutely intuitive (as expected from all Apple products).
There are some very bad flaws (at least for me): No camera for neither pictures of video conference, no Flash support which means no internet videos other than YouTube, no USB port, and some other minor things... But is a really cool gadget, and I think it is worth a try.

Music Radar did some research on musical apps for it, so maybe it might be helpful to create music on the go. But then, with no USB port, I can't plug my Apogee ONE and record stuff immediately...
The screen is something out of this world... Really amazing images...
So, if you only use your computer to surf the net, check some Alembic pictures, organize your schedule, watch TV shows and movies, listen to music and this sort of basic stuff, maybe it is time to retire your computer and get yourself an iPad. If you do more, I would wait for a 2.0 version...
Any other questions, I'll be glad to ask (if of course, I know the answer!).

Greg, who actually sent this message from the iPad

And by the way, I won't blend it to see what it tastes like, and I will not hit it with a baseball bat just for your amusement!

I think it will be a great remote control for DAWs and I am envisioning using it with a band so everyone can create their own mixes, kind of like the AVIOM system, but with more control.

Hm, maybe I should keep it to myself and talk to a developer!
