Today at a garage sale I picked up a Squier Tele for $35. This makes me happy. The previous owner cobbed up the guts. This makes me unhappy. I think I can sort it out (after I buy a new soldering iron), but...can someone explain to me how I square wiring diagrams showing 3-way blade switches having 2 rows of 4 lugs with an actual switch having 1 row of 8 lugs? Alas, I have my office/studio torn apart for painting, etc., and can't find my digital camera, so visual aids aren't possible for a while.
Thanks.

Hey Peter, if you are looking for a wiring diagram, go to the Seymour Duncan site and look there. They have just about any wiring combo you can think of.

Thanks, Tim; since I'm pretty much going to have to do a complete rewire, I can do any 3-way, 2-p/u Tele scheme, so I've already printed out SD's diagrams for '52, '53, '66, & modern. Haven't decided which way to go.

Peter:
In the past I've used a continuity tester to figure out the lugs on a Fender-type blade switch. I got it at an automotive store. Looks like a screwdriver with a point instead of a blade and a 2 foot wire with an alligator clip coming out of the other end. It has a little bulb and an AA battery in the handle. You clip the alligator clip to one terminal and touch the point to the terminals you want to test. When the circuit is competed, the light in the handle lights up.
