I own a 1212R that I don't use much any more as it was replaced by a 21012L. I love the things. The neo speaker versions are a bit more accurate, I think. The 1212R has a very vintage vibe to it, very warm and punchy. I will either sell it one of these days or replace the drivers with neos and use it for rooms where stage space matters or leave it in the practice space.
In any case, some of the comments you probably found are mine and they are still as current as when I wrote them. This past summer I played an outdoor cancer benefit on a bill with several heavy bands including a Led Zep tribute, Kiss tribute, and guys playing the Judas Priest - Metallica range. There was another groups doing more general stuff, like my band, as well. These guys had full SVT rigs and a Boogie 400+ into 2x15 monster cab. My 21012L kept up with them all, no problems. I was using the power section of an iAmp800 behind a tube pre. We also had a good sound crew that day to bring everything up, and they were able to dial in a tone for us very quickly, no DI involved. I've played for a couple hundred people indoors and more like 400 outdoors with no PA support on other days and it works great.
Admittedly, I haven't been going low B on any of these so you might want to do some more research if that's important to you.
Jorg is a great guy to do business with. I got my 1212R from someone locally who tried it once and blew it up. He was a bit clueless about gear and sent it back to Jorg who replaced it at no cost in spite of the fact that it was clearly user error. When the new one came back, he sold it to me still in the box and it's been great. Another guy locally bought one from someone who swapped out the horn on his own. Jorg helped him troubleshoot it and then sent him the replacement horn. I'm not sure if any money changed hands on that one, but I doubt it. If it did, it was cost on the part. Support-wise, there's no one better.
