No way...that's terrible. He's responsible for my favourite bit of music ever (the intro to Shine On...).

Wow, quite a shock.  I always thought that so much of what gave Pink Floyd their signature sound was due to him.

And I am not frightened of dying, any time will do, I
don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying?
There's no reason for it, you've gotta go sometime.

This is a shock to all of us. He will be missed. My favorite work was Us and Them. What a great piece of music. Let us all Have A Cigar for Rick.

One of my all time favorite concerts was the Dark Side Of The Moon tour.  Prior to Dark Side, I had listened to all the earlier albums as the drummer in my band had them all; and we loved them.  So I was prepared for Dark Side, but it still blew me away; it was amazing.  For years afterward, a friend and I would regularly go down to the record store and pickup a copy of Billboard to see if it was still on the charts.

Dang, my fave was The Great Gig in the Sky from Dark Side.  The singing over Wright's piano parts give me shivers to this very day.

It makes me feel so...mortal.
