To the readers of my posts, I apologize.  Keith, I thank you for reminding us of the posting guidelines.  My comments were clearly political, in most regards, and for this I apologize to all.  It is never my intention to offend anyone on this forum.  So for any of you that were offended by my comments, please accept my deep and humble apology.

I don't care who I offend, I'm sticking to my original statement. I LIKE CARROTS!
lately it's been those bags of baby ORGANIC carrots! these always taste better then the commercially grown carrots.

I like pizza too!

Spose,

If you like carrots, you should see the ones we have here at the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont.  Geez, they are of industrial quality and size!  I'll try and get some pics, but suffice to say you could choke a horse with them.

Carl, I'm offended by your apology, what now?  ;-)

I too would like to apologize. Of all the things wrong in our world, and don't get me wrong, I still see so much that is positve, but of all that is amiss in our modern culture, the current state of political correctness drives me nuts. People are way too easily offended in our society. That being said, I fully understand the danger of faceless communications, like web forums and blogs, and I have been the indirect target of numerous flat out falsehoods, posted as truth, on some forum or blog. Seeing as how I respect this place, Alembic.com, so much, I never initiate any controversial threads. But when I see stuff posted, well, let's just say I went to great lengths to tone down my responses. As I often remind my boss, well yes, that's what came out of my mouth, but you should've heard what I didn't say. The problem for me is, that for the last eight years, I have, in the interest of self preservation, had to suppress an astronomical degree of frustration, anger, disillusionment, disbelief, and sadness, just to make it through every day. I don't think I realized just how much I was suppressing until last night. It's everything I can possibly do to keep from bursting joyful noise from every pore. I can only imagine this must be what it feels like to have terminal cancer go into remission. That's how big it feels, to me, right now.

So while it's true that my recent posts may not be in line with the letter of the law here, in a day or two, I'll come back down, and return to posting about Wishbasses, or how I love my set neck Epic, as much as any Series owner loves their bass. Until then, just cut me a little slack, CAUSE I'M FREAKING OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Always proud to be an American, not always proud of all Americans, JBY

Sorry I'm late.

Keith, thanks for the Posting Guidelines reminder.  Looks like your reminder has helped to calm things down.

For many Americans, and I gather for people in other countries as well, no matter which candidate you were hoping would win, the outcome caused a visceral emotional response.  There were supporters on both sides who had an enormous amount invested emotionally in this election.  At this point, it would be very easy, if unintended, to deeply hurt someone right now, as those on both the winning and losing sides are emotionally raw right now.

As moderator, and given my own past and present experience with discussion groups, and given comments made on this board and made directly to me by email from club members, I think holding this place, our little place here on the world wide web, as a refuge has significant value.  This is alluded to in the posting guidelines, and I've mentioned it in a few prior posts as well.  As much as I may find statements about free speech to be reasonable, and as much as I may find compelling the idea of sharing with and learning from our friends, the potential costs to our community here seem to me to be too great.

I do realize that, no matter which side you were on, yesterday's outcome does have many people emotionally buzzed right now; and I thus find it highly understandable that one might feel compelled to post and respond about it.  That said, I would like to humbly and most respectfully request, especially in light of what some of you may have been through, that each of us pause and breath and give due consideration.

Thanks.  You guys are a great group of people, and I am fortunate to share this space with you.

pas... did you do any work for your candidate?
or just sit back and moan whoa is me....
mccain ran a disaster of a campaign and clinging to joe the plumber(psst- he doesnt have a plumbers license btw) was the icing on the cake. he made poor judgements and thats why he isnt president elect. not to mention the one thing that didnt get mentioned- this man has a wicked bad violent temper= its documented- this isnt who i wanted in the white house-economy or no economy

bill posted a thread about how proud he is and most of us are about the democratic process and how the people finally got off their asses and spoke up-
its kinda like that scene in network where albert finney tells people to run to the window and scream out i'm mad as hell and i'm not gonna take this anymore

your bio says your an investor- so i am wondering if you will be complaining when the market comes back next year. but i guess you wont because you dont want to pay your fair share of taxes.

as the sea gulls said in finding nemo- mine mine mine mine mine.........

40=45yrs ago and i watched it on tv
segregation, no voting for blacks in the south
the march on selma= the black boycott of merchants
the march on washington by dr king....police dogs attacking marchers.. getting fire hosed. three voter registers murdered by the klan. medger evers
rosa parks-mlk-james meredith-one man one vote

45 later = a black man is president=
this may sound funny- but i wished i was black today so i could feel exactly what these people are feeling today= i rejoice in our success as a democratic society.

Wow,

If you have friends and want to keep them, don't talk politics.

Now, lets see what develops and what happens over the next 4 years.  Will taxes on all go up?  Will there be another terrorist attack on US soil?  Will our 2nd amendment rights be taken from us?  Will the sky begin to fall?  Will Garcia return from the Dead to play one last Greatful Dead concert.  Will gasoline be less than $2.00 again?  Will I find a great deal on a used Stanley Clark bass?  Will my athletes feet finally heal up?  Will the government impose an exotic woods tax on my new Alembic guitar?  Will I still have a job in 6 months?  Will I finish my Will before I die? Will.......?

Who knows, the Shadow knows......

Have a great day one and all and laugh.

Paul
