I just had Michael Johnson (Bluer than Blue) at my house 3 times in the last 5 days.

How cool is that?

Another tune that some will recall is This Night Won't Last Forever.  So how do you know him?  And did you do any playing?

A friend of mine (my personal criminal defense attorney) set up a house concert with him at my church last Saturday (I've done several house concerts with guitarist Michael Gulezian).  He came to my house for dinner after.  The next day, we discovered that he has left some gear, so he came out to the house for dinner last night.

And left his cell phone.  So he came back to get it.

He put on a great concert on Saturday.  Last night before dinner he and my stepson pulled out their guiatrs and had an impromptu lesson.

All in all, a very cool event.

It's somewhat suggestive that you have a personal criminal defense attorney.

So what you're saying is that Johnson is a bit forgetful.

In my reading last night, I noticed that Johnson early on studied classical guitar; so I'm guessing he's probably a pretty good player.

You know Michael Gulezian!  Great player!  He's one of the players that caused me to go off in the direction I've been working on.

Gotta give it up for criminal defense attorneys.  A reasonable doubt at a reasonable price!  lol

Personal Criminal Defense Attorneys:  I've never needed one, but it's good to know who to call if you do.

Michael Johnson - Killer Guitar Player.

Michael Gulezian - Also a Killer Guitar Player.  I've done 3 or 4 house concrts with him, and he played for my second wedding.  He likes staying at our house - my wife cooks Armenian for him.

How small is the World, really?
I toured with Michael in '78 (5-string Series-I), he regularly stays at my brother's place in Mpls., and now here we are talking about him in the Alembic forum.
Wild!
He's a great guy and a great musician.
Nothing further your honor.

Jimmy J:

He mentioned that last night, I was floored, as you and your brother were (and continue to be) huge influences on my playing.

Michael J is playing in Delano MN (west of Mpls) at a place called the Three Crows.  The show is sold out.  He's also playing at the Dakota in December.

Gordon Johnson now plays about once a month at the Crows.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to make any of those gigs.
