Nothing to do with basses or music
« on: November 29, 2010, 01:31:58 PM »
I am trying to remember some of the funniest movies I saw as child.  They were foreign Western comedies from the 60's -70's starring two partners in a series of films.  One a young blond/blue eyed actor and the other a very big guy with black hair.  The comedies always had great scenes with mass fist fights.

Ring a bell to anyone?

That would be the Italian duo of Bud Spencer (Carlo Pedersoli) and Terence Hill (Mario Girotti) who starred in spaghetti westerns, but of a different kind than the Clint Eastwood vehicles.

I can still hear the cheap-o sound fx for fists landing in various body parts. The fact that all the actors clearly hold their punches does not detract from the humorous value.

Last night I watched A Night At The Opera - just classic. Tonight it may be A Day At The Races. Yes, I guess I am a Marxist.
Chico did his usual marvelous (and fun) piano solo, then Harpo did a piano solo followed by a harp solo!

If I lived to be 200 years old, Curly-featured Three Stooges, the Little Rascals, I Love Lucy, the Marx Brothers, Harold Lloyd and WC Fields would still make me laugh like crazy.
