Wonderful! I loved watching Don Kirshner's Rock Concert back when I was a kid growing up in Iowa (I seem to remember it being on TV on Saturday afternoons). Sometimes it was great, sometimes not so much, but this Return To Forever performance just burned into my brain (maybe that was just Chick's yellow sweatshirt). The last few seconds with Stanley and Lenny burning away were so awesome! I have to admit that I don't remember Al and Lenny looking quite so much like high school kids (if I remember correctly, I think Lenny was only about 20 around this time, Al might have even been younger).
Other super memorable stuff from Rock Concert for me was Roy Buchanan, Focus (giant wall of Acoustic amps), and The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (maybe it's just blurry memory over all these years, but it seemed like Alex Harvey managed to be on there every two months or so). The guitarist usually had on whiteface and the bass player had a Tele Bass, which was my first bass...
I'm glad to see this RTF performance on YouTube after all these years. I had always hoped that Rock Concert or In Concert would find it's way to commercial DVD, but I imagine it just wouldn't be possible to untangle all the rights. Still hoping for Night Music or Sessions at West 54th, though.
