Unfortunate accident....
« on: April 25, 2011, 07:11:20 PM »
I need help to repair my Distillate. After an accidental forward fall during rehearsal (me with the bass) the headstock hit the ground and my chin hit a hard object. While my chin and knee are sore my Alembic suffered a broken D string tuning key. Does anyone know where I can get a single chrome Schaller? I spoke to Mica and was told they don't use these anymore. (my bass is from 1985)
There are also a little damage to the top edge of the crown peghead but that's just cosmetic.
Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.  Jeff~

Jeff; sorry to hear about the accident.  Hope you find a Schaller.

Jeff - try this: http://www.allparts.com/Bass-Tuning-Keys-s/171.htm?searching=Y&sort=7&cat=171&show=20&page=2

Not sure exactly what type of Schaller you need, but All Parts usually has what most are looking for.

Hope this helps,

Alan

Alan,
It appears they have the M4 tuning key I need. I can get this ordered now and be back to playing it again.
I can't thank you enough for the help!
You all are the best.  :-)
