For all y'all who use (by choice or not) in-ear systems: Have you ever heard of, or seen, some type of limiter that can be used between the in-ear signal (such as an Aviom) and the earphones that will prevent spikes from getting through?
I am having significant issues with this lately. The spikes can be from a specific channel in the mix or, as today, from someone unplugging a condenser mic without muting the line first.
I would absolutely love to have something between me and the Aviom mixer that would prevent anything from exceeding X decibels getting to my ears.
I've been using hearing protection for years and have custom earpieces to isolate myself from the 90+ decibels of on stage volume. But all of that is worthless if someone else can jack the volume of a system that is directly in my ear.
Thanks for any leads you know of.
