Hello do you people work?

I have been trying to contact Alembic for a build history for my Persuader 5-String for over 2 months now. I tried emailing the addresses provided on the main page and calling them before resorting to the Alembic club, I even tried emailing Mica directly to no avail. The  only response I have received has been from a senior member. I am currently working in Europe and need to sell the bass. This is so frustrating I can't believe Alembic never read their emails. That or they are just ignoring me because of the deluge of mail they have received from me. Hopefully this post will entice them to respond but at this point, I think that is wishful  thinking.

Your request was posted on April 1.  It can take 1-2 months to get this information.  You may not be aware that Alembic is a small company and Mica performs this free service in-between her multiple other duties.  You're not the first person to complain about a lack of response to Emails, but I imagine their In Box stays overwhelmed (and again, they are a small company).  Nice bass.

Try calling. They're very friendly over the phone Even first thing in the morning (I called at 5pm from the UK).

A small modest company making some of the most exquisite instruments in the world, Alembic works very hard. Looking up build history is a free service offered on a first come first served basis. Look-ups are completed when the schedule in the Santa Rosa office permits and thus the service is often moved down the priority list. If there is urgency to your request I suggest continuing to contact the office via phone and if the information can be located they will gladly assist.

When I first joined the Alembic club, I was astonished to find that they even offered this information. I can't imagine any other company providing this service, (maybe there are?). I think I waited over three months for my build record, and felt fortunate to have that information.

Calling is the best plan, but while they are as diligent as they can be about their past records, it seems like their top priority is current and impending builds. I don't think this is information that is at their fingertips and the answer to the headline question is yes, they do work. They work really, really hard at getting people their new instruments and the courtesy extended to the current owners of older instruments of finding and publishing the records takes a lower precedence. I understand your impatience in your situation, but try to imagine the impatience of someone who is waiting on getting an instrument and not just documentation. Time taken to find and post your information is time taken away from building, which hard to come by as it is. It's a very small company and they don't like to hurry any job, which means that when your instrument was made, they were able to do it without compromising. Whether or not you have the information shouldn't affect the sale.
